Assessment of Correlation Between Brain Function Index and Three Common Sedation Scales in Intensive Care Unit Patients

چکیده
Background: This study aimed to evaluate the correlation of brain function index (BFI) with three criteria consciousness (Glasgow, Richmond, and FOUR score) in intensive care unit. Methods: We enrolled patients aged over 15 years who required no muscle relaxants had hearing visual impairment, mental retardation, disorder, hemodynamic instability (MAP < 60 mmHg), hypoxia (SpO2 90%), as well electrical activity disorders such epilepsy focal disease, those not undergone anesthesia surgery for past 24 hours. Results: All ICU were autumn winter based on inclusion exclusion (n = 85). During hours, BFI clinical sedation including RASS, GCS, score assessed times a minimum four-hour intervals. Among patients, 45 (52.9%) males, 40 (47.1%) females; (28.2%) under age, 13 (15.3%) between 41 old, 48 (56.5%) 61 old. There was significant positive relationship patient score, GCS. The higher than other two criteria. Conclusions: Objective assessing level are sufficiently accurate can be used instead assess special wards.

Correlation of Bis Index with Clinical Sedation Score During Mechanical Ventilation in Intensive Care Unit Patients
Background: Mechanical ventilation and sedation are inextricably linked components of critical care that represent, what we do for the patients during their vulnerable course in ICU. Aims: The aim of the present study is to evaluate the use of BIS for monitoring sedation in mechanically ventilated ICU patients and correlation of BIS with Sedation Agitation Scale. Settings and Design: Prospectiv...
متن کاملCorrelation between Quality of Care and Length of Hospital Stay in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Background: Length of hospital stay (LHS) is the most important and practical indicator in hospitals, which largely reflects the level of hospital performance and activity. It is also an important indicator for resource planning. Moreover, the quality of care can theoretically be related to LHS. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between LHS and quality of nursing care in...
متن کاملAssesment of correlation between bispectral index and four common sedation scales used in mechanically ventilated patients in ICU.
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to compare the correlation between bispectral index (BIS) monitor and four commonly used subjective clinical scales (Ramsay Sedation Scale (RSS), Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale (RASS), Sedation Agitation Scale, Adaptation to Intensive Care Environment scale) in mechanically ventilated patients in intensive care unit (ICU). In addition, comparison of responsi...
متن کاملAnalgesia and sedation in intensive care unit.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Many Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients present pain. The administration of analgesics and sedatives is crucial for patient comfort and to reduce stress, as well as to prevent delay in recovery and ventilator weaning. The objective of the present study was to conduct a review on analgesia and sedation in the ICU. CONTENT The present study reviewed the causes of pain,...
متن کاملSedation assessment in a mobile intensive care unit: a prospective pilot-study on the relation of clinical sedation scales and the bispectral index
INTRODUCTION The critically-ill undergoing inter-hospital transfers commonly receive sedatives in continuation of their therapeutic regime or to facilitate a safe transfer shielded from external stressors. While sedation assessment is well established in critical care in general, there is only little data available relating to the special conditions during patient transport and their effect on ...
